July Beauty Favorites

During the summer I tend to wear less makeup and focus more on skincare due to the warmer weather. The month of July was just that, if I wore any makeup it was just mascara, brows, and lip gloss. I definitely feel like I'm more of a gloss girl compared to lipsticks especially in the summer they are just so easy to pop on and refreshing, especially if it has a nice minty scent like the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer. I have the light pink shade and keep this in my purse. I used it everyday that I was out and about. It gives the lips a nice sheen and a little bit of a plumping effect (if your looking for something drastic I would probably not pick this one, the Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme one gives a nice plumping effect). However, I still like it for daily use and the packaging is chic and clean in my opinion, so its nice to keep in the purse.

For skincare, I have been retrying the Clinique system, I know its a shocker because if you have been reading my blog for a while I have always been obsessed with the Caudalie foaming cleanser and Beauty Elixir, but I have to say that I have been enjoying switching it up especially for the summer (an updated skincare routine is coming soon). I also felt like I needed a change because my skin has been changing during pregnancy. I have been enjoying the whole system but the two standouts that I really love are the Clinique Clarifying Toner and the moisture surge eye gel. I do have combination skin and have never had really bad problems with acne, but I do have redness on my upper cheeks. Since I have become pregnant I have seen a difference in the texture of my skin in that it has become more textured and I have been experiencing more small bouts of acne on my cheeks. Toner is always my favorite step in my skincare routine because I feel like it just makes my skin feel even more clean, and I love the slight tingle it gives my face. I know I'm probably so weird, but can anyone else relate?

The Clinique Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro Filler Concentrate has actually given me visible results in that it has made my undereye area appear more plump and made any micro wrinkles (I'm 27, but I feel like they are definitely there due to the lack of sleep during pregnancy perhaps) disappear. I don't think it was meant for this but I also like to place some on my scowl lines above my nose to make those be less apparent.

Another favorite for skincare has to be the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask. Whenever I put this on my skin, the next day my face looks so refreshed and I often get compliments on how dewy and hydrated my skin looks. I even have my mom hooked on it (she has already gone through an entire pot of it!).

I will say I am pretty lazy when it comes to applying cocao butter or other lotions to my stomach, and lets not even talk about my legs. But I really enjoy the smell of the Hemp Pomegranate lotion so it makes me want to put it on. I should really get better about applying this to my stomach to avoid stretch marks... note to self.

Lastly, I have really been enjoying the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. The lip mask feels so amazing on my lips and always leaves them super hydrated.
