How to Keep Going When You Feel Like You Hit a Dead End


Sometimes it can feel like your in a rut or like you don't know where to go from where you are at, but that's okay! I want to share a couple ways I think help me feel inspired and find a new route from the dead end (because in reality you can always just turn around or cut through..am I right!?).
1. Get Outside!
If your not an outside type of person this may not be for you, but that's okay because everyone is different. When I feel like I am lacking inspiration, going for a walk clears my mind to allow new and unique thoughts to flood in. With out being influenced by anything other than nature and your own mind, its crazy what you can come up with!


2. Put your phone down and unplug.
It can often feel like so much information is coming at you from every angle, especially in this age when we have the world at our fingertips. It can be difficult to remember that you should put the phone down and stop letting other's lives influence how you live your own, you are your own person.
By viewing other peoples curated life, say on social media, before you do your own work or if your a blogger like me developing your own content, it can allow what they are doing influence your mindset and the way you go about doing things (this can even happen without you realizing it!). Staying in your own lane and completing your work is the way you remember who you are, what you stand for, and how darn inspiring and unique you can actually be! It's just like back in school, keep your eyes on your own paper! Don't worry about what other people are doing, you are your own unique shining star and don't let anyone ever tell you or make you feel differently! Got it!? Good!


3. Have a well balanced meal, but also splurge and spoil yourself a little bit if you need it.
You know I had to add a food component into the mix because of my background in nutrition, but it is so true! A glass of water and a healthy nutrient dense meal can really change your day and your energy levels (I know I sound like a total nerd, but hear me out...)! Making sure you stay hydrated and not hungry not only keeps your energy levels up, but also your mood! Who doesn't get a little hangry sometimes? This can go the other way too, don't feel like you always have to limit yourself! A brownie or cookie, if thats your thing, every now in then isn't going to ruin anything and may actually make you feel a whole lot better in the moment.


4. Get lost in a good television series or even better a book. 
The show that I just finished is the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. I heard that a lot of people didn't like it, but I really enjoyed how it wasn't the same as the old show, because trying to repeat the same thing wouldn't exactly work out as well in my opinion. This show had a darker undertone and as long as you go into it not expecting it to be the same as the older show I think you'll actually really enjoy it (if you like a little horror). I love how they stuck with the same tone as the Archie comics and made it more aligned with the comics. It always takes my mind off of things to watch a new show and its almost like your experiencing other people's lives even if they are scripted! The type of books I have been interested in lately include more positive and self improvement books. The one that I'm starting right now it by Lori Harder and it is called "A Tribe Called Bliss." Reading a book allows for your brain to focus on the reading, and sometimes getting lost in a good book is all you need to feel inspired.
