1 Dress 2 Ways

There is just something so great about seeing a piece of clothing in a store or online and immediately thinking about all the outfits you can make with it. This dress from H&M has quickly stole my heart for its versatility and unique print, and I have so many styling ideas for it. Dresses can be an underrated part of the fall and winter wardrobe, but with a few tweaks this staple can be carried through all the way to spring! I love finding pieces that can be styled in different ways, because you get the most cost per wear out of the product.
Finding the perfect dress can be hard, you have to think about sizing, length, whether or not it matches with your skin tone, or your hair color. There are so many components. For me, when I'm looking for the perfect dress, I search for something that isn't form fitting, but I still want it to be flattering. I'm shorter at 5 '3," and slightly busty, so sometimes it can be difficult to find dresses that aren't too long or fit around the ladies (I don't want any fat man in a little suit vibes). I lucked out with this one, it is the perfect length and isn't too tight around my bust!

A sweater over a dress may sound like an odd combination, but let's think about this. The weather is getting colder outside, and indoors the heat will be blasting. Having an extra layer to pop on over a dress gives the added warmth, and it looks unique and stylish. The best way to do this is to match a print with a solid. I wore this patterned dress with a neutral colored sweater so that the pattern would still stand out and be the star of the show. These mules are not only a great Gucci dupe, but look stylish with dresses, skirts, and jeans (they are only $25!).

The next look is great for a day to night outfit. Its just the dress by itself paired with a staple purse and pair of shoes. This can be worn to the office and out to dinner with friends or your significant other. A great way to carry dresses in to fall and winter is to pair them with mules or over the knee boots. You can wear your mules to the office and then swap them out for over the knee boots for the night. You don't have to worry about your legs being freezing, and you can always wear them with tights too. I think a good pair of over the knee boots is a wardrobe staple that everyone should hop on board with. Adding a solid coat that matches the details of the dress and the color of the boots makes this outfit cohesive and easy to style.
