August Beauty Favorites

How can it already be September!? Where has the time gone, summer flew by and now its time for my favorite time of year, FALL! Before I get all pumpkin spice latte on you, I thought I would hop on the blog to share my August beauty favorites. During the summer months I don't tend to wear a lot of makeup, so this post is going to be short and sweet.

Being blonde, keeping brassy tones out of my hair can prove to be quite a task. The Matrix blonde shampoo is the first purple shampoo that I have tried that doesn't dry out my hair and doesn't smell of intense perfume. The shampoo itself has a nice subtle banana scent and literally erases any brassy tones that may pop up in my hair.

During the summer months I don't like to bother with using foundation and tend to stick with BB or CC creams. The It cosmetics CC+ with SPF 50 UVA/UVB in the shade light has been a favorite of mine forever now and most likely continue to be for many months to come. The SPF in this product is a titanium dioxide and zinc oxide combination.

The Neutrogena MoistureShine lip smoother is a natural everyday gloss with SPF 20 and  have it in the shade Glow 70. During the summer months I'm all about the SPF products and this one is no exception, not only does this protect your lips from harmful UV rays but it gives a natural sheen on the lips. This is a sticky gloss, so probably not one to have the windows down on the highway (hopefully you can learn from my mistake).

The Vichy masque peel double eclat with AHA, volcanic rock, vitamin CG and vichy mineralizing thermal water is another favorite this month. My skin feels so much softer and cleaner after using this and it only takes 5 minutes, perfect for lazy girls like me. It works as a mild exfoliator in both the chemical and physical sense. The AHA works as a chemical exfoliator and the rock of volcanic origin works as a physical exfoliator. My skin looks so fresh, hydrated, and healthy after using this and I could continue to rave on but I'll cut myself off here.

I spend quite a lot of money at Sephora if you haven't been able to tell from my blog posts and Instagram, so when it was time to cash in my points I couldn't resist a benefit prize. I chose the Benefit Get the Pretty Started palette. This comes with three mini products, a bronzer, blush and highlighter. It comes with a decent sized mirror and mini sizes of the Hoola bronzer, Galifornia blush, and the watt’s up highlighter. This little palette is so easy to pop in your purse or to travel with. The Hoola bronzer is a perfect contouring shade and warms up the skin so nicely. I actually own another mini of the Galifornia blush, it is a golden-pink blush that is perfect for summer. It does have a slight shimmer so if your not into that, this blush isn’t for you, but it doesn’t bother me. The Watt’s Up! Is a cream to powder highlighter. In the past I have been afraid to try any cream makeup because I was afraid of over applying or it being to cakey but this is a nice easily blendable highlighter in a champagne shade. I think champagne highlighters look best on my skin tone.

Another highlighter favorite would have to be the Becca highlighter in Champagne Pop. The product was originally launched as a Jaclyn Hill collar and it has become one of the most popular Becca highlighters. I get so many compliments on my highlight when I wear this, it is one of the most buildable intense highlighters I own and will continue to use it until I hit pan and have to purchase another one.

The micro-blur skin perfector from Kiehl’s with lipo hydroxy acid, bark & lentil extracts functions as a wonderful primer or natural skin product. This is amazing by itself or as a primer before the application of foundation. It blurs the large pores I have on my nose and just gives my skin an overall even tone.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my August beauty favorites. What were your most used beauty products in August?

Thanks for reading.
