January Favorites

The first month of the year is always a tough one, trying to keep up with new years resolutions and make the changes you want so that you can propel yourself successfully into the new year. This January was definitely a tough one for me, I had to get back into the swing of my hectic, school and work schedule and try once again to pull off a never ending balancing act. However, this means that my monthly favorites for January are items that are easy, no-fuss, and practical items that I used daily.

For starters, can we just discuss how amazing the It cosmetics CC+ illumination cream is. Not only am I super excited that it packs the punch of SPF 50, but it's honestly other worldly how the product blends into my skin to give a flawless finish. I wear the shade light and what I love about it is that it doesn't really feel like I have loads of makeup on when I wear it, in other words its totally wearable! Another makeup item I have been trying out this past month and loving is the new Too Faced creamy peach oil lip gloss in the shade "Papa don't Peach." There has been a lot of hype surrounding this line, but it definitely deserves it, this smells just like peaches and its a natural your lips but better shade. When I'm feeling a little tired and I want to just add a little something to my average makeup look to seem a little bit more put together but not try too hard this is the gloss I go to.
I haven't been super into exploring different primer varieties, in the past I had used Benefit's porefessional and that was that I didn't really look at other primers because I knew that one always worked for me. Whether if it was that I was in a spendy mood or just that I was interested by the name I decided to pick up a new primer at the beginning of the month. The primer I decided to try out and ended up loving is the Too Faced Hangover Rx, I guess you could say I am brand obsessed at the moment. I love the fact that the product is made with coconut water, for some reason I know it seems corny but it just makes it that much cooler in my mind. I know I'm probably super late to the party, but the last makeup product I have been loving this past month would have to be the Urban Decay all nighter makeup setting spray. At first I didn't really see the allure of this, but after using it all month I can seriously say that it makes all the difference in keeping my makeup in place all day long.

So this past month I got a BIG hair cut, lets just say the hair dresser cut a little bit more than a couple inches off..I'm still trying to get used to it. But, the hair product that you have probably already seen on my blog and that I will always love is the Its a 10 leave in conditioner, this product is the stuff let me tell you! My hair tends to be super dry, like straw or hay, but when I spray this in my hair when it is still damp my hair acts completely different, its so soft and smooth its almost like my hair was replaced by someone else's hair, someone that treats their hair like a baby. If I'm looking for a little bit more body and texture I have been reaching for the Dry bar Triple Sec 3 in 1. My hair tends to be wavy and flat at the same time, and this gives me a bit more texture making my hair look a little bit more beachy than just out of bed flat.
My one fashion favorite this month would have to be my go to jeans right now from Express, they are probably the most comfortable affordable jeans I have found yet far other than the Rock and Republic brand jeans. I have literally been switching out my two pairs shamelessly all month, wearing my Rock and Republic ones every now and then. I am obsessed with the dark wash destroyed skinny pair, they look great with chunky sweaters and booties (my go-to outfit this January).
I don't know if this is considered fashion or not, but if it is I have two fashion favorite and my second would have to be my new sunglasses, which by the way were only 5.99! I got them from the guys section at rue21, I haven't been able to justify shelling out for brand new Ray Bans because the ones I have are in perfectly good condition but these do just fine and they are super cute, I have gotten so many compliments on them!
The social media site I have been delving deeper into this month would have to be Instagram. I have been trying to post at least every other day if not every day and I love just taking pictures and the whole editing aspect that goes along with it! My Instagram and Twitter handles are both @whosthemo if you wanted to check them out.

What was your favorite beauty product in the month of January?

Have a great day!
